Important information

  • Initial examination: approx. 1 hour
  • Revalidation/renewal: approx. 1 hour
  • Preparation: you may eat and drink
  • Additional costs: €125 per hour (excl. VAT) if the doctor has to carry out extra work after your visit

How does the examination work?

  1. Identification & registration

    • Check of your ID/passport
    • Scan of your medical certificate & licence (if applicable)

  2. Medical history

    You complete a digital health declaration.

  3. Additional tests (if needed)

    ECG, audiogram, eye examination.

  4. Physical examination

    Carried out by an Aeromedical Examiner (AME).

  5. Assessment & certification

    • With a normal result, you receive your certificate straight away
    • If there are medical findings, further consultation may be needed

Validity of the medical certificate

  • Under 40: 60 months (valid until your 42nd birthday at the latest)
  • Age 40–50: 24 months (valid until your 51st birthday at the latest)
  • Age 50 and over: 12 months

Revalidating your medical certificate

You can revalidate your certificate up to 45 days before the expiry date without changing the expiry date.

How do you book an EASA Class 2 examination?

Our medical examination assesses whether you meet the safety standards for aviation.

  • No medical findings? Then you receive your certificate straight away.
  • A medical condition or taking medication? Our AME (Aeromedical Examiner) assesses, if necessary in consultation with the Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) or another European CAA, whether you can be certified with a limitation.
