Medical examination for pilots
You obtain your Class 1 or Class 2 pilot medical at a specialised aeromedical centre such as Sky Medical Center. We are a qualified Aeromedical Centre, which means we can medically examine professional pilots, recreational pilots and other aviation personnel. Our team of experts consists of medical specialists with a passion for aviation. As a pilot, you can have a Class 1 or Class 2 medical examination with us, among other things.
Class 1 pilot medical
At our medical centres, we examine pilots every day, and increasingly cabin crew as well. The Class 1 pilot medical is intended for commercial pilots CPL(A) and MPL(A) and airline transport pilots ATPL(A). The examination always starts with a clear explanation, completing an application form and answering a few questions about your health. You then have a comprehensive examination. The Class 1 pilot medical includes weight and height measurement, a blood pressure measurement, a general physical examination, blood tests and a visual acuity test. Depending on your medical history and age, additional tests such as an ECG and audiometry are required.

Medical certificate for Class 2
Are you a commercial balloon pilot (BPL), a glider pilot flying outside Europe (SPL) or a private pilot (PPL)? Then you need a certificate from the Class 2 medical examination. To obtain this certificate, too, you must be found medically fit. The Class 2 medical examination works in almost the same way as the examination for a Class 1 certificate.
